The History of Rise Esports
Rise Esports is an organisation that was created in March of 2016 by Justin Deese. The organisation started off with only a single team, which was a North American Counter Strike: Global Offensive team. The organisation has since expanded to include teams in other games such as PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Fortnite.
How did Rise Esports start?
Rise Esports is a North American organisation founded in January 2017, made up of former members of Splyce’s Call of Duty World League team. The organisation also has rosters in Halo 5: Guardians, Gears of Duty, and Smite.
In September 2016, it was announced that major esports organisation Splyce would field a Call of Duty roster for the upcoming Call of Duty World League season. The team was composed of former world champions Jordan “JKap” Kaplan and Steven “Diabolic” Rivero, as well as rising stars such as Tommy “TJHaLy” Haly and Adam “Assault” Garcia.
The team was immediately successful, qualifying for the first stage of the CWL Global Pro League and finishing in the top six at the 2017 CWL Las Vegas Open. However, after a string of disappointing results, the team decided to make a change, benching Diabolic in favour of rising star Johnathan “John” Perez.
This change paid off, as the team went on to win the CWL Dallas Open in April 2017. With this victory, Rise Esports became one of the most successful North American Call of Duty teams in recent memory.

This includes setting up training facilities, providing stipends and salaries for players, and holding regularly scheduled matches and events.
In order to achieve this goal, Rise Esports is working with organisations and individuals who have experience in traditional sports. They are also partnering with game developers to create official Rise Esports leagues for popular games.
